RESIDENTIAL FAMILY Assessment CENTRE

The centre provides a safe and supportive environment where parents and their children can live together while completing a residential parenting assessment.

We supports, educate and empower families to build on their strengths and provide a safe, nurturing environment, in which they and their children can thrive.

Celebrating Cultures: Our culture is an important part of who we are. We encourage families to share their traditions, languages, food, celebrations and beliefs with us and to inform us if there are cultural or religious practices that are important to their family. We will do our best to support them wherever possible and ensure they feel respected.

Understanding Cultural Differences:

Our approach recognises that every family is different, these differences include:

  • Sleeping arrangements
  • Feeding practices
  • Discipline
  • Family roles
  • Involvement of grandparents
  • Religious practices
  • Cultural celebrations
  • Communication styles

We welcome discussions about these differences. If something is unfamiliar to us, we will ask questions rather than make assumptions. Likewise, we will explain UK safeguarding expectations where these differ from practices in your country of origin.
